YOUR Student Government
The Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU) is Montana State University’s
student government and the voice of the student body. ASMSU works to represent student
interests, provide opportunities for student leadership and involvement, and enhance
the overall college experience.
ASMSU is organized into three branches—Executive, Legislative, and Judicial—similar to the structure of the U.S. government. Each branch has a distinct role
in representing students, making decisions, and supporting the work of student government.
Our Mission
ASMSU is the voice of the students, dedicated to enhancing the college experience
at Montana State University through leadership and employment opportunities, diverse
student-oriented programs and services, and responsible fiscal management of student
activity fees.
ASMSU Leadership
The Executive Branch of ASMSU is responsible for the administration and implementation
of policies, programs, and initiatives that enhance the student experience and advance
the university community.
ASMSU Senate
The Legislative Branch, ASMSU Senate, plays a crucial role in representing the student
body's interests, proposing and passing legislation, and allocating funds to support
various student programs and initiatives.
ASMSU Supreme Court
The Judicial Branch of ASMSU serves as an impartial body responsible for upholding
the organization's constitution and ensuring fair and just decision-making processes.
ASMSU Programs
ASMSU offers a diverse range of programs, encompassing civic engagement, event planning,
arts and films, marketing, and legal services, to enhance the student experience and
support various aspects of campus life.

ASMSU Business Office
The ASMSU Business Office supports student organizations and ASMSU programs by managing
financial processes, providing guidance on budgets and spending, and ensuring compliance
with university fiscal policies.
