No tutor is going to judge you for not knowing what you don’t know. Everyone understands class topics at different times, for some it just clicks and others it just takes a while; everyone is different. Just because a topic didn’t click instantly for you does not mean anything about your intelligence or capability to learn something inherently difficult.
I like to go to the gym 5 days a week and find movement during my day.
I work a lot for the school and you can often catch me helping people over the phone in the Bobcat Ticket Office, supervising and training new volunteers for ticket taking at Bobcat Stadium during football games, or assisting in basketball games and other events at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
The Math and Statistics Center.
Hot hazelnut latte with almond milk.

Empower is a very welcoming space. Sometimes it's nice to learn the material from someone who has been in your shoes and taken these classes.
I make sure to stay active and take time for myself.
I am involved with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) and study abroad.
The Engineering Mechanics Learning Center (EMLC) is another great tutoring resource.

We all need a little help with what we struggle to understand, weather it's explaining it from a different perspective or framing it in different terms, and tutors are here to help understand the material from a different standpoint from your professors that can help shape the concepts in a way that's more fitting to how you think.
I read during my off time, and get up a little earlier in the mornings to paint, adding a little bit of joy to the start of my day!
I teach and compete in Historic European Martial Arts (HEMA), have a couple side projects I'm working on, and work managing El Mercadito's Paperwork.
The Math and Stats center
A dirty Chai Latte with Oat milk!

The first step is the hardest but I promise you won’t regret it!
I love watching UFC with my roommate every Saturday.
I am heavily involved with Baja SAE Motorsports and the WIE Advisory Board.
I love the Barnard Welding Lab.
Iced americano with a pump of caramel.

I have been where you are. There have been many times when I didn't even know what I didn't know! Asking for help is the first step to success.
I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing Catan, and reading.
Club Soccer, AISIS, and ASME.
EMLC (Engineering Mechanics Learning Center)
Iced coconut Americano with cream

Ryan (he/him)

PHSX 220, 222
If you're hesitant to get help, I say there are no stupid questions and I don't judge. I struggle with social anxiety myself, but engineering is difficult and sometimes you just need another human (NOT an AI!) to talk things over with.
To take care of myself when drowning in schoolwork, it's important to remember to get plenty of sleep, eat well, and exercise. It's cliche, but improving on just these three things works wonders for your motivation and adaptability.
Outside of school and tutoring, I research space radios at Resilient Computing.
My favorite on-campus resource is our new gym. Although it's always super busy, I'm thankful to have free access to a variety of exercise options.
I love me a brewed dark roast with a little half n' half!
