CAMP COUNSELOR APPLICATIONS
It’s time again to start planning camps for the next 4-H year! There is always a need to have camp counselors. You remember what it was like to be at camp and probably have fond memories of your camp counselor. You have the opportunity to help make memories for fellow 4-Her’s. You must be 15 years of age or have completed your freshman year in high school by the time of camp to apply. Camp will take place at Camp Rotary June 2-5, 2019.
Fill out your application and return to the Extension Office by December 20, 2019.
MONTANA WINTER FAIR
The Montana Winter Fair is scheduled for January 18—26, 2020 at the Fergus County
Fairgrounds in Lewistown, MT. There will be two new events this year: Ag Ambassador
Contest and Livestock Judging. The Livestock Judging will begin at 8:00 am with check-in
at 7:30 am at the Pavilion. The Ag Ambassador Contest is at the Ag Building at 8:00
am and check-in is at 7:30 am on January 25, 2020. If you are interested in attending
contact the JBC Extension office for registration forms.
Registrations are due January 10, 2020.
Events: Education/Farm Forum, Savor the Flavors of Montana,

RE-ENROLLMENT TIME!
Re-enrollment is open and we will be using 4HOnline to register again this year. Remember you may order project books when you sign up.
REC LAB 2020
Hosting for Rec Lab this year is by District 3. Rec Lab for 2020 will take place April 24th - 26th at Hobson, MT. If you have any workshop proposals for this event please fill out the included form and return to the JBC Extension Office by
December 13, 2019.

CENTRAL MONTANA FAIR CHANGES
There are important changes to the Central Montana Fair you need to be aware of. Please read the information on page 2 carefully!!
Division 1 Central Montana 4-H
Eligibility to Enter in the 4-H Static Division (indoor 4-H Projects)
- All youth entering must meet the age requirements for the Fergus/Petroleum County 4-H Program. Cloverbuds are between 5 and 7 years of age on Oct. 1 of the current 4-H year. All other youth were at least 8 years old on October 1 of the previous year and were still enrolled in high school.
- All youth must be enrolled in a 4-H Club or FFA Chapter in Fergus, Petroleum, Judith Basin, Wheatland, Musselshell, Golden Valley, Phillips or Chouteau County.
Division 2 Central Montana 4-H & FFA
JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW
Eligibility to Enter in the 4-H and 4-H/FFA Livestock Division
- All youth entering must meet the age requirements for the Fergus/Petroleum County 4-H Program. Cloverbuds are between 5 and 7 years of age on Oct. 1 of the previous year. All other youth were at least 8 years old on October 1 of the previous year and were still enrolled in high school.

JUNIOR LIVESTOCK MARKET SALE REQUIREMENTS
The 4-H/FFA Jr. Livestock Sale at the Central Montana Fair is restricted to youth enrolled in a 4-H Club or FFA Chapter in Fergus/Petroleum County, with the exception of a Market Animal that wins Grand or Reserve that is owned and shown by a 4-H or FFA member from Judith Basin, Wheatland, Musselshell/ Golden Valley, Phillips or Chouteau County.
- Market Animals entered by 4-H and FFA Members from Judith Basin, Wheatland, Musselshell/Golden Valley, Phillips and Chouteau County Youth must send documentation that provides proof of ownership and possession of the animals on or before; Feb. 1- Beef, May 1- Swine, June 1- Sheep, Goats, Poultry and Rabbits. This documentation must be mailed to the Fergus County Extension Office between May 1 and June 1.

The plan is to have a Western Heritage, Shotgun, and Muzzle-loading Training later in the Spring when the weather clears up. This is planned to take place at Manhattan Wildlife Association in Logan, MT as all of the equipment is there. As it gets closer, we will get the information out as we receive it.
OUTBOUND PROGRAM EXTENSION
Did you miss the deadline for Outbound trip? How about New Zealand! The application deadline for the 2020 outbound program to New Zealand is extended to December 6, 2019
THE SUSAN DUFNER SCHOLARSHIP
Application Deadline: January 15, 2018

CITIZENSHIP WASHINGTON FOCUS (CWF)
Have you thought about a trip to Washington, D.C.? During a week in June you have the chance to experience our nation's capital, meet your legislators, and meet 4-Hers from around the country. During this week-long trip, delegates have the opportunity to tour the Smithsonian and the National monuments as well as visit with Montana Senators and Representatives. Montana delegates travel as a group with two adult chaperones. If your current 4-H age is 14-19 you are eligible to attend. Watch for more info in following Newsletters.
Applications are due January 15, 2020.
LEADERSHIP WASHINGTON FOCUS (LWF)
For those 4-Hers that aren’t old enough for the CWF trip there is the Leadership Washington Focus trip to consider. For those 4-Hers in 7-9th grades you may apply for LWF. This is designed to build confidence in their abilities to motivate and direct others in meaningful action, practice effective communication with others through group discussion and public speaking. Work with others to create and accomplish goals, develop an understanding of their own personal leadership style. These Washington Focus trips usually take place in July.
