The 2026–2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open and fully available.

All contributors to the FAFSA—such as the student, parent(s), or spouse—must have their own FSA ID (username and password). Each FSA ID is unique and required to securely access and complete the FAFSA. Contributor roles are determined based on answers within the application. Supporting help can be found here. For guidance on who qualifies as a contributor, visit Studentaid.gov.

For the best experience, all contributors should create their FSA IDs before starting the FAFSA.
