Office of Financial Aid and Education
We are here to help you achieve your educational goals!
Financial aid can help cover tuition, housing, books, and other college expenses. Use this page to apply for aid, review your aid offer, and complete the steps needed to receive funding.
Start Here
- Complete the FAFSA. Apply for federal, state, and some institutional financial aid.
- Review your Aid Offer. Log in to MyMSU to view your financial aid offer.
- Accept Aid in MyMSU. Choose which loans or aid you want to accept.
The 2026–2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open and fully
available.
All contributors to the FAFSA—such as the student, parent(s), or spouse—must have
their own FSA ID (username and password). Each FSA ID is unique and required to securely
access and complete the FAFSA. Contributor roles are determined based on answers within
the application. Supporting help can be found here. For guidance on who qualifies
as a contributor, visit Studentaid.gov.
For the best experience, all contributors should create their FSA IDs before starting
the FAFSA.
