PAAC Minutes - September 9, 2022

Paul Harris Installation
- Richard Rudnicki presented Paul Harris installation, Oona Nood
- Four locations presented. 1 interior location, 3 exterior locations
- Facilities recommends hanging it on an exterior concrete wall
- Melissa suggested location 3. Will provide some shelter and protection.
- Kris is also in favor of location 3.
- Location 4 provides another option if there are installation issues.
- Evan recommends a structural evaluation (the provided bracket and if additional reinforcements will be needed. Concerned 1 and 2 may not have adequate integrity.
- Donor offered to install.
- Melissa questions if there is a plan for protecting the work from vandalization?
- Richard explained we will follow the typical process for graffiti. Since its art, request a plan from the Paul Harris gallery (what cleaner to use).
- Will follow up to get their recommendations for cleaning.
- Royce moves approval of the sculpture. Committee’s input will provide location guidance. Kris Johnson seconds. Unanimous recommendation.
Spirit #22 Installation
- Sarah Knoebl presented Spirit #22 statue installation
- Donated by MSU Alumni Foundation to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Romney Hall
- This statue will be mounted in Romney Hall’s Cruzado Auditorium
- Royce moves to approve. Keely seconds. Unanimous recommendation.
Wellness Center Art Selection Committee Discussion
- Richard Rudnicki
- Two PAAC members needed to serve on the Wellness Center art selection committee. Will serve with Richard, Evan and a building representative (5-person committee)

- Hoping to get RFP out this month, open for 30 days, could leave open longer.
- Hopefully making art selections in November.
- Melissa Ragain offered to serve on the selection committee. Josh DeWeese will serve on the committee.
- Melissa suggested adding student representation to the art selection committee.
- Kris moves. Cori seconds. Unanimously recommended.
