First time at Montana State University (Never attended college*)  

Montana State University requires that each incoming student submit a final, official high school transcript with grades and a graduation date for evaluation by the Office of Admissions.  

Your official high school transcript must be sent directly from your high school to the Office of Admissions via mail or a secure online submissions service.

*Students who complete Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or Dual Enrollment coursework during high school and have not attended a college or university after graduating from high school will be considered first time freshmen students. First time Montana State University (Transfer Student) 

Students who have attempted 12 college credits or more from another institution after high school graduation or a student who has already received a bachelor’s degree from another institution.  

All college level, degree applicable credits recorded on official transcripts from institutions that are regionally accredited at the time of your attendance, will be transferred. Official transcripts must be requested and sent either by mail or by a secure electronic transcript service (Parchment, National Student Clearing house, etc.). Transcripts are NOT official if sent by email.

Please note that all faxed or emailed out-of-state transcripts are considered unofficial. However, those faxed directly from another Montana University System in-state institution with a macrao-fax stamp are accepted as  official. 

PLEASE NOTE: An evaluation will not be done for students who have previously earned a U.S. baccalaureate degree. University Core requirements are complete for these students. 

Returning Montana State University Student 

Students previously enrolled at Montana State University-Bozeman who have attended another institution need to send their official transcript to the Office of the Registrar either by mail or a secure online submissions service.
