The Science Math Resource Center at Montana State University's QCORE will support 5 Montana sites to host QuantumClub in Fall 2026. The program was designed for middle school youth in out-of-school time (OST) settings, and educators will be provided with training, support, and a free quantum science and art curriculum that was developed by the QCORE and the National Girls Collaborative Project. No quantu,m experience or STEM background is required.

In 2024, Montana State University, in partnership with the National Girls Collaborative Project, launched the QuantumGirls program—a project of MSU’s Applied Quantum CORE funded by the US Air Force Research Laboratory.

QuantumGirls provides an engaging, hands-on STEM curriculum for middle school self-identifying girls and gender-expansive youth (ages 11–14), aiming to spark interest in quantum science, introduce quantum-related careers, and foster a strong STEM identity. The program features collaborative learning, discussions, and projects, and is implemented by Out-of-School Time educators across Montana.

Five educators have been selected to implement the QuantumGirls curriculum into their existing programming models:

  • Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation
  • Boys and Girls Club of the MonDak
  • ExplorationWorks
  • Soft Landing Missoula
  • Monforton School Afterschool Program
