Description of Request

Submitted By: Robert Peterson, LRES Department Head

The Precision Agriculture program requests the allocation of rooms 212, 213, 214, 215, 215A, 215B, 216, 253, and 257 in the Molecular Biosciences Building (MBB) to support the research, instructional, and collaborative needs of faculty members Anish Sapkota and Paul Nugent (LRES), as well as an incoming Plant Sciences Plant Pathology (PSPP) hire. This configuration will also provide needed flexibility for continued collaboration with Northern Agricultural Research Center researcher Ricardo Pinto and his students.

This allocation strengthens the infrastructure needed for the continued growth of MSU’s Precision Agriculture program, ensuring appropriately configured and flexible laboratory, research, and collaboration spaces that support current faculty, new hires, graduate students, and external partners. Faculty offices will remain in Linfield Hall to maintain engagement with students and colleagues. As part of this relocation, Linfield Hall rooms 101, 102B, 114, and 114A—totaling 808 square feet—will be vacated, allowing these spaces to be reassigned for other institutional priorities. The Space Management Committee recommends approval of this allocation.
