    1. Animals On Campus
      Jennifer Glad, Associate Legal Counsel

      Jennifer presented an update on where the policy is

      Provost Mokwa asked for consideration to include Department Head when there is an issue in a classroom.

      Provost Mokwa asked to add, In consultation with Provost or Dean when UPD or ODS is involved in removal of animal from classroom

      Provost Mokwa asked for the 2-day window to be discussed and/or expanded for review at the VP level

       

      Friendly amendment – on section (Temporary Dismissal) – instructor must notify ODS and DOS – add department head or director

       

      Friendly amendment – Only the Director of ODS or UPD has authority to permanently to remove – add upon consultation with Department Head or Director

       

      Friendly amendment – change appeal timeline from 2 days to 5 days

       

      Jennifer approved all three Friendly amendments above

       

      Motion to approve friendly amendments – Provost Mokwa

      Second by Cody Stone

      No opposition to the friendly amendments

                                         

      Suggestion to point campus to the policy and familiarize themselves with the policy

       

      Motion to approve policy by Mike Becker

      Second by Will Thomas

      Unanimous Approval

      Kirk presented an overview of the policy revisions
      Will bring back in 30 days.
