Who can use the CAC facility at MSU?

The Cellular Analysis Core (CAC) facility is located in the Health Sciences Building (off MSU's main campus). The LSR Fortessa and StratedigmSE520EONFACSAnalyzers are located in the Cooley Laboratory for easy access by on-campus users.

Our facility is open for internal use by all MSU faculty members, graduate students, undergraduate students, postdoctoral fellows and other research personnel upon completion of appropriate facility and instrument training. We are also happy to work with faculty members who would like to integrate CAC instruments or methods into their courses.

Training requirements to use any of the CAC instruments are listed below. An MSU index number will be required for reimbursement.

We also welcome external users from other universities, non-profit organizations, and businesses. Facility staff can run samples for external users through a Testing Services Agreement (TSA), which can be initiated by the core facility manager. Alternatively, external users can run samples on site upon completion of a Facility Use Agreement (FUA).  Please note that facility rates differ based on user type.
