Safety Escorts
In the interest of the safety of MSU’s students, faculty, staff, and visitors, the Police Department has escorts available on campus 24 hours a day. Contact the University Police Department at 994-2121. Our Safety Escort program is available to anyone on campus.
Simply call the Police Department and request an escort from any point originating on campus to any other point on campus or a contiguous location to the campus

Fingerprinting Services
The University Police Department offers fingerprinting services when staff is available. The fee to roll two fingerprint cards is $15.00. During school breaks, fingerprinting services are limited and offered by appointment only. Hours offered for this service during the Fall Semester are Monday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. We encourage you to call ahead at 406-994-2121 to ensure we have staff available for fingerprinting.
You may request a copy of police incident reports by coming to the MSU Police Department between 8 a.m. through 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of legal holidays. There is a $5 fee to individuals who are involved in the incident report and a $10 fee to individuals not involved in the incident. You may also request your report in writing by completing the report request form and mailing the form and the $5 or $10 fee in the form of a check or money order made payable to MSU and also including a photocopy of your valid photo ID (drivers license or passport). Come to the University Police Station to fill out the request form.

Due to security concerns, we are unable to provide patches to the general public. Requests for patches will only be honored for law enforcement agencies that agree to use the patch for public or professional display. All requests for patches on behalf of an agency must be received on department letterhead signed by the requesting department’s Chief of Police or designee and the requesting agency must send their departmental patch with the request. Your departmental patch will be displayed in our secure section of our facility. Patch requests from sworn law enforcement agencies within the United States can be submitted on official agency letterhead and mailed to:
